AgSight is a nonprofit built on a core belief: rural communities matter. As a key source of our sustenance and the stewards of much of our land, we believe small farms deserve every advantage our volunteers can offer. Using our technical expertise, we help them improve yields and identify practical ways to strengthen the natural environment.

Our method is simple: we use geospatial technologies to provide small farms with the information they need to improve production, in exchange for completing practical conservation projects that help the land. No money changes hands. Farmers gain useful insights, rural communities gain healthier landscapes, and our volunteers gain the satisfaction of helping both.

AgSight’s technology uses overhead imagery from drones and satellites, combined with geospatial processing, to create precise, up‑to‑date Agricultural Products. These tools help farmers spot emerging crop issues, target remediation efforts, and plan field improvements. The same imagery also reveals conservation opportunities that protect and strengthen the rural landscape.
How AgSight Works
We Exchange Agricultural Information for Conservation
As an AgSight Geospatial Member, you gain access to our Exchange, where you’ll find listings of the Agricultural Information Products (AIPs) we provide alongside the Environmental Stewardship Projects (ESPs) we recognize as valuable to rural communities. Both AIPs and ESPs carry a credit value that scales with the level of effort and the area involved. Members simply choose the AIP that delivers the information they need, then select an ESP of matching value they’re willing to complete. With more than 70 information products—from Seed Emergence Scans to Storm Impact Assessments and Surface Drainage Optimization Plans—and conservation projects ranging from riparian improvements to invasive‑plant removal and tree planting, the Exchange is the beating heart of AgSight and drives nearly everything we do.
